A scientist accidentally hits a dog while driving and takes her back to his lab to try to save her. As she is dying he finds she is pregnant, creates an artificial womb for the pup and discovers a method to accelerate the growth of the fetus. This experiment proves to be a positive one and the scientist convinces a doctor to sneak him a human fetus that would otherwise die. There are initial problems but then all seems well, until the "adult fetus" turns into a homicidal maniac.
